Pros

Location is accessible and teacher-colleagues are friendly and genuine, except those in management.

Cons

New teachers be warned. Management will pay you very little and overwork you. Give it a few weeks before you will eventually burn out. You may be required to work for 7 contact teaching hours every day and have minimal time to prepare for lessons. You will be assigned numerous covers for teachers who are constantly on leave because management is incapable of working out a simple coverage system. For minimum wage, your average teaching day could be: 9:30-11:30, 11:40-13:40, 20-minute lunch for you to breathe in your food, and then hourly lessons for kids who could be as young as three! So you’ll be a babysitter and nursery teacher for the rest of the afternoon. You will be monitored for time thievery so clocking in and out is a must as this goes to your KPIs. Your annual and medical leave is earned pro rata. Student complaints are rife and will not be filtered out so you will hear about them. This family business runs their company from a text book by Michael E Gerber’s “E-myth Revisited” and will attempt to make company-wide changes every time they finish a chapter. It is only a matter of time before they collapse after running so many people over on the tracks. Avoid this place. You are better off working for a school that respects your value and pays what you are worth.

Great great atmosphere and supportive environment. Inclusive environment. Owner is very down to earth.

Cons

Steep learning curve; less experienced teachers need to learn the ropes fast; loyal students have high expectations. Lesson planning time is precious.
