Pros
The company is small enough that you’ll get to know everyone. The mission-driven nature of the company means everyone is focussed and driven towards a common goal.
The fashion space is really interesting and there’s definitely lots of opportunities to learn about the industry.
The founders are really smart and it always felt they were working “in” the team vs “on” the team.
Having lunch together every Friday and doing the occasional team trip always felt natural and a great way to get to know people better.
Cons
The company really struggles to do learning/development well consistently. In my time there, I felt like attempts were made to try and do this right, but the nature of the work and the management structure makes this difficult relative to other startups of a similar size.
The team favours generalists and there isn’t much room to specialise. So if you interview be sure to clarify the expectations of the role. The management style is generally quite strict/cold/professional which for some may be a negative but others may find it motivational.
