Pros
I built great friendships with coworkers
Cons
There are no raises for Frontline staff. I got 1 raise in nearly 5 years and it wasn't done fairly (I got less than brand new staff, despite being full time and on the mentorship team) but staff at head office get 15-25 thousand a year (check out the sunshine list). Head office does not support staff even when being verbally abused by clients, we got told "they are who they are and they won't change" staff are still owed backpay from October and it is now April. Head office staff get multiple 2 week vacations per year, yet front line staff often get time off requests refused. When questioning why I got less than brand new part time staff for our once every 5 year raise I was told "be glad you got anything, teachers got less" comparing apples and oranges, even though spread out my raise would equal less. During the start of the pandemic they took away PPE. Head office staff also informed us they ignored the calls of family members of clients, leaving Frontline staff to deal with them. Overall I would never, ever work there again. I would rather work at McDonald's, they make nearly as much there anyway.
