Pros

Lockers for storing things. Multiple fridges and microwaves available for use. Flexible meal and break times. Able to change your schedule easily. Frequent work social events.

Cons

Management has a tendency to disappear into meetings that tie them up for long periods of time. If something goes wrong on the floor, very few operators know what to do to put out the fires, so to speak. It turns into a cesspool of utter chaos and confusion. Not enough equipment, somethings just have to be shared. If you're a model employee, you will be pushed to give and give and give for the sake of the company until you're nothing more than a hollow shell of yourself. If you ask for help with burnout, you're told to suck it up and that everyone's tired. Management has a bad habit of gaslighting employees to explain why something went wrong. Very little wiggle room given for growth. You have to practically be really aggressive to get put on new projects or get trained on something new. Training is an absolute mess and makes no sense. If you learn best from reading, you're fine. If you learn literally any other way, give up hope. You have to fight tooth and nail for every raise. You will always be paid below market value. They highly dislike having to give anymore than a 3% raise a year to "cover changes in the cost of living" so hope you enjoy 30 - 50 cent raises. Employees unhappy? Let's not address concerns and just give them a pizza party. There is almost a weekly occurance of one of the toilets in the bathrooms breaking. One stall door was literally breaking the dry wall it was attached to. Drain flies are a frequent problem in both bathrooms.

Pros

I have worked at VSI for several years and it is a good job. I would recommend working here because of the environment and the people. I like the people I work with and they do a good job promoting people. There have been changes in the management over the last year, but the owners have started managing the company again and it is working good.

Cons

Over the last year we added a lot of people to get business but the orders changed so they had to lay some people off. VSI did a great job of keeping the best people.
