Pros

If you're on a good team, good at sales, and don't mind working odd hours you can make good money. They promote from within so you don't have to worry about some 22-year-old with a MBA and no real work experience becoming your next boss.

Cons

I got laid off in early Covid and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. I honestly thought it was fine here until I left and saw how a decent company actually treats its employees. You have to wait 6 months to qualify for benefits and even after you do, the health insurance is so expensive that I don't know how anyone who works here has a family unless they have a spouse with decent insurance. It was always a "flex" at VTG if you were married or a veteran because you could get much better health insurance elsewhere for cheaper. The vacation time is also a joke. If you're commission based it's unpaid because there is no base salary. Salaried employees fare better in that regard, but even then you only get two weeks and they'll throw a hissy fit and usually reject your time off if you try and take more than one week at a time. After I left I couldn't believe it when not only did I have no issues getting my time off approved, but upper management actively encouraged using our vacation time (and taking long trips during slow season) because news flash - employees who feel valued and who aren't burnt out make better employees. If you're working here and have half a brain, stop selling yourself short and LEAVE. I promise that better is out there.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences regarding your time at VTG. We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic was a challenging time for everyone, and we regret that we had to furloughed many of our employees during that period. We strive to support our employees during difficult times and provide them with necessary resources. Regarding the eligibility period for benefits, employees are eligible for benefits the first of the month after 60 days. We continuously evaluate our benefits package to ensure it meets the needs of our employees while remaining competitive within the industry. This year, we have added a new preventative health benefit in conjunction with our primary health insurance coverage at no out-of-pocket cost to our employees. This benefit is designed to provide valuable preventive care services to our employees, whether they choose to opt into our company-provided major medical insurance or not. This additional benefit aims to promote early detection and proactive healthcare management. Concerning vacation time, we recognize the importance of work-life balance and understand the need for adequate time off. Our policy grants a continuous stretch of two weeks away from work, provided that there is adequate staffing coverage and the employee has accrued or will accrue the time off prior to the dates requested. We strongly encourage all employees to promptly submit their time off requests as soon as they become aware of their desired dates, ensuring a smooth approval process. We are sorry to hear that you felt unsupported during your time at VTG. Employee satisfaction is a priority for us, and we aim to create an environment where our employees feel valued, appreciated and can enjoy vacation time. Thank you for your contribution to VTG during your employment, and we wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Not really good for upper movement. I wouldn’t want to be a manager.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We are proud to offer uncapped commissions because they create strong earning potential, and we recognize that metrics alone do not define a great employee experience. While we do have consistent minimum expectations for all sales agents, most of our team regularly surpasses them, with team managers there to support, encourage, and coach agents toward success. We also want to clarify that our recent wave season was more in line with the past couple of record-breaking years. Most importantly, we put employees first. We do not allow clients to mistreat agents, and our Customer Care and Customer Support leadership teams actively step in during difficult client situations to ensure employees feel supported, respected, and backed by leadership.
