Pros

- one of two category leaders - great ICs/teammates - decent to great benefits - great investors - strong performance - has become a reputable brand to have on resume

Cons

- poor WLB most of the time - CRO has too much power, can finger point at or make demands of multiple teams while never having to take accountability for sales performance - company asks a lot of employees but gives nothing in return to make you feel better about heavy workload and working hard to take on more, ie no COLA raises despite inflation, performance raise only (for only half the company), no events other than office happy hours, have to jump through hoops for team off sites - C suite/exec team lacks a leader who can really rally people - very smart/cerebral team but they can’t motivate, which is needed given how easy it is to get burnt out at vanta - like most startups, lots of managers who are in the role due to being in the right place at the right time, not necessarily strong people managers - lots of competition driving down deal size

Pros

REALLY talented team here - very smart people who are also humble and approachable. Strong leadership bench. The company sets clear goals that they communicate them effectively so it's clear what we're marching towards together. Also, love that we're remote! Gives me a ton of work/life flexibility.

Cons

Normal start-up growth spurt changes - lots of hiring and changes with team structure for some orgs but it all feels natural to where we're at in our growth journey.

Pros

Good pay and benefits, decent work life balance

Cons

This place is incredibly dysfunctional. Every day feels draining. Toxic and rude coworkers, immature leadership, incompetent and ineffective management, inefficient processes... it's nearly impossible to get anything done without multiple layers of review and endless rounds of revisions. The bureaucracy is exhausting. Decisions are made in siloes and often walked back because they weren’t thought through properly to begin with. Information is shared selectively and you will often learn of things “through the grapevine”. Priorities, goals, metrics are nowhere to be found. There's little sense of culture and very little to no focus on employee experience, DEI, or anything beyond the bottom line. Many people come across as disengaged, transactional, and self-interested. Development opportunities are limited, and career and compensation growth are slow even for strong performers. Office politics are prevalent, employee concerns are rarely acted on, and meaningful feedback is rarely given or asked for. There is an overwhelming focus on AI, often without consideration of resource usage, output quality, or security implications, which is surprising given the industry. Usage is duplicative, disconnected, and directionless. I've honestly never felt less connected to my work. At some point, I found myself emotionally checking out just to preserve my own well-being.
