We are happy to hear that you enjoy our friendly atmosphere, great benefits and working with the most bleeding-edge virtual and mixed reality technology in the world. On the other hand, we are very sorry to learn about your feelings this way. We want to address that your interpretation of ‘using covid as an excuse’ for layoffs is not true. During spring 2020, we were forced to adapt our business to the dramatic economic downturn – similarly as thousands of other technology companies in the world. COVID weakened our customers’ ability to invest for an unpredictable period of time. The unknown path forward meant that Varjo had to cut costs to secure our company’s future. We are extremely sorry that we could not entirely avoid personnel cuts. The Varjo team, including our alumni, are an exceptionally hard-working and talented group of people. We are forever grateful to our team members for their contributions. Since then, Varjo has been on a steady financial growth curve, growing fast and also made significant efforts to keep the entire Varjo team up-to-date about our business with full transparency. We hope that we have started to earn back your trust since you’ve written this review.
