Pros
Management works with individual contributors on career goals and makes plans for achieving them. Vector’s HR team has an extensive annual review process that includes a detailed roadmap of career development opportunities and checkpoints for each employee to track and react to. Vector rewards exceptional work and celebrates success. Vector is also very customer focused without sacrificing the needs of their employees. Vector’s mission is to make the world safer, smarter, and better. These morals are reflected in the work ethic of employees I work with and it is easy to see the passion my fellow contributors have for the work we do and the clients that we serve.
Cons
Vector is making strides to keep benefits competitive with other companies. Health care plans have not been very strong over the past few years. However, a revamped HR team with a focus on diversity and inclusion has been making great strides to keep employees and their families covered with competitive plans. They just rolled out new tier plans that reduce the economic strain many families are facing due to recent inflation. In fact, the healthcare plan pricing was reduced this year even with raising cost of living.
Pros
Collaborative and promotes shared success
Cons
I don't have any cons
Pros
It's a job and some of the people are great, remote/hybrid work for some employees
Cons
There is literally zero incentive to work hard or even try above the bare minimum. No real career paths or progression, no bonuses, nothing. Individual goals mean nothing and do not connect to larger company goals. Leadership is feckless and has to revisit the same decision constantly or has to make a decision involving way more people than necessary which means the final decision is bloated and difficult to operationalize. The company goals are not clear at all so work priorities constantly shift to whatever leadership has most recently decided, through a committee, is most important. There is basically nothing in terms of company culture. People don't talk to each other about anything. There is no fun in Teams channels. This probably stems from all of the above, that people do not feel at all connected to the company because they know they are not going to get anything out of it. Oh, and the benefits are abysmal.
