Pros

- Good intro to Sales - Industry Leader + Easy Pitch - Work Life Balance

Cons

- Mid-Upper-Executive management have no clue what they want from the SDR team. Constant changing expectations of KPIs. - Pay is lower than industry average - Lack of growth opportunities in sales. Constantly pushing overachieving SDRs to CSM or AM roles because they prefer AEs with past experience. Haven't promoted a single SDR to AE in one sector since January 2023. - Lack of Innovation and speed with product updates. - Subpar Customer Support.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that you found value in the intro to sales, our position as an industry leader, and the work-life balance we strive to maintain. We also appreciate your candid feedback and want to acknowledge some of the concerns you raised. Career growth is incredibly important to us, and we’ve made intentional efforts to create clear development paths within the sales organization. While we understand it may not have been your personal experience, we want to clarify that we have promoted several SDRs to AE roles—specifically 5 in 2024 and 7 in 2023. Supporting internal mobility remains a top priority, and we’re always looking for ways to strengthen those pathways. We also recognize that consistent expectations and communication are key. Through regular engagement and pulse surveys, we’re actively gathering employee feedback to help guide improvements across leadership alignment, product innovation, and overall support. Thank you again for your time at Vector Solutions. We truly appreciate your contributions and wish you continued success in your career.

Pros

It's a job and some of the people are great, remote/hybrid work for some employees

Cons

There is literally zero incentive to work hard or even try above the bare minimum. No real career paths or progression, no bonuses, nothing. Individual goals mean nothing and do not connect to larger company goals. Leadership is feckless and has to revisit the same decision constantly or has to make a decision involving way more people than necessary which means the final decision is bloated and difficult to operationalize. The company goals are not clear at all so work priorities constantly shift to whatever leadership has most recently decided, through a committee, is most important. There is basically nothing in terms of company culture. People don't talk to each other about anything. There is no fun in Teams channels. This probably stems from all of the above, that people do not feel at all connected to the company because they know they are not going to get anything out of it. Oh, and the benefits are abysmal.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We’re sorry this has been your experience, and we take comments like this seriously. Vector is a mission-driven company serving customers in critical industries, including public safety, education, industrial, government, healthcare, and other organizations that rely on our technology to help make people safer, smarter, and better prepared. We are proud of that work and of the team members who support it every day. Vector has implemented many positive changes over the years based directly on team member feedback, and we continue to welcome input across all areas of the business. We recognize that benefits, career growth, priorities, and culture can be experienced differently by different people. We do offer a comprehensive benefits program that includes health coverage, 401k support, flexible paid time off, wellness programs, tuition reimbursement, and other resources; Growth Pathways to help team members understand career progression; and companywide initiatives such as Team Member Appreciation Week, Vector Volunteer Week, holiday events, and special commemorations to help build connection and culture. We also understand the concern around shifting priorities. Like many companies, Vector operates in an ever-changing economic landscape. As market needs evolve, we have to evaluate and adjust priorities to keep the business growing, serve our customers well, and support the team members who drive our success. We will not dismiss feedback simply because it is difficult to read. We have meaningful work, a strong team, and a lot to be proud of, but we also have work to do. We appreciate your perspective and will continue working to make Vector a better place to build a career.
