Pros
The hardest part about this industry is you enjoy the people you work with. And that's what makes it hard to leave - that and the money $$ [see cons]
Cons
- You will not make money here [at Mavericks]. You will kill yourself bending over backwards for people and not get a thank you.
- All Verant Group locations require the bar (& servers) to tip out a large percentage of overall sales [of their money!!] to "security" because this company refuses to pay minimum wage to it's security staff. Instead of walking out with 500 -600$ - you're walking with a little over 200$ on a Saturday night shift and that's if you're lucky to get one.
- Mavericks is a boys club - if you're not one of the boys then you might as well walk out.
- Management shows extreme favoritism and lack of concern.
- The company does not care about their employees - perks will slowly diminish.
- The "lead" bartenders are some of the worst I have ever worked with - they will lie, cheat, and steal to get what they think they are owed.
- At Mavericks - there are about 10 or so "leads" - this means all the money shifts are taken, there's no rotation in the schedule, and you're lucky to get a good Friday or Saturday shift.
The list could go on with the lies and communication but I made my point - this is not a good environment to be in.
