Pros
Great if you don’t mind working many hours, for a pittance.
Cons
Takes advantage of people in a desperate situation. They tell you that the faster you type, the more money you can make, but the reality is that it’s not about how fast you can type, but how clear the speakers are on the audio. Even with the best quality audio, people will still speak over each other, mumble, and mispronounce words, meaning that you need to repeatedly listen to the same section until you’re sure what they’ve said, or that you cannot transcribe it. That’s what takes the time, and there’s no way round it. Don’t be a fool, I ended up working for the equivalent of £2 an hour. It’s a con. They’ve used a loophole to pay far, far less than minimum wage, and it’s disgusting. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.
