Pros

This is a strong company - great values, super CEO, great technology.

Cons

I worked with many great people here, but a few just seemed to get enjoyment out of bullying, belittling and making people's lives miserable. The work-pace is crazy, and even though they seem like they will be flexible and understanding, they expect you to work 12 hour days and then weekends and nights. I was repeatedly told the "insane pace" would let up, but it never did, and they let several people go, making it harder... since they were in a "hiring freeze".

Thank you for your feedback and review. We share feedback we receive on Glassdoor with our senior management team. We require all employees be treated equally and respectfully. This is an integral part of Verian’s core values, and also highlighted in our Employee Handbook. We have harassment policies in place through our Human Resources Department, which we take very seriously, should any employee ever have any questions or concerns. Our “open door” policy encourages all employees to voice concerns to Human Resources or senior management in order to resolve issues and maintain a positive, team-focused environment. Verian also values work / life balance. We offer flexible work hours and remote work options based on managerial approval and departmental needs and schedules. Some roles may occasionally require alternate or additional hours, based on special projects and company initiatives (typically IT and support roles). We are constantly looking at ways we can make improvements, and appreciate your feedback.

Pros

Not work 'for', but 'in'. Verian allows their employees to develop, grow, succeed, fail, and learn from their experiences. Basware acquired Verian 1 month ago, and the company is expanding it's footprint in the market space continuing the culture and mission. If you cannot find a place at Basware/Verian to succeed, then you should not work for any technology firm. The people are from many backgrounds, and fantastic to work and socialize with. I've been at Verian over 5 years serving in many roles. If you 'want' to have a career, Basware/Verian is a great place to be.

Cons

Commute to the office increased by 5 minutes this year due to new construction in Fort Mill.

Pros

The term "culture" comes up a lot if you ask employees why they like Verian. After over six months with the team, I agree. Fellow employees are intelligent and motivated, but not too serious. There's a lot of teamwork across departments, and all of these things combined makes it easy to be successful. The company makes an effort to encourage that teamwork with small social events, and it works well. Flexibility in job responsibilities. If you start in one part of the organization, it's actually pretty easy to move to another one if you become interested. No less than five people have moved laterally into a new role in a different department during my experience. For a company this size, that's pretty substantial.

Cons

There aren't really any glaring issues. The company is growing quickly, so if you aren't looking for a challenging role, it might turn into an issue. Those challenges may sometimes be administrative process changes, and that may be a problem for some.
