Pros

Good benefits being part of an extremely large company.

Cons

New Verizon management stepped in, a lot of micromanaging to groups more used to being creative and working independently while producing great results, cutting out of any fun events that employees once had, disorganizing of who "owned" what issues so more time was spent trying to see who can help you, versus helping the customer get an issue resolved.

Pros

There is a base salary and a commission. The benefits are good. It's a set Monday through Friday schedule, mostly. If you don't have a career path or an advanced education this job has more to offer than many jobs out there.

Cons

Constant high pressure mentality. Expect to be talked down to a lot. Don't plan on being treated like a person. You are only as good as your current month. If you were number one last month, but your numbers are not what they want this month you will get publically called on it. There is lots of public shaming in front of the entire team. The promotions are heavily based on who your friends are, and they are rarely based on actual performance. Higher education will not help you advance up the ladder. Although you have a set Monday through Friday schedule, you are required to hit your daily call quota before you leave. It's common for employees to put in extra time to meet the quota, and you may get contacted on weekends or afterhours to respond to leads. There is also a lot of lead stealing and reassignment of good leads to friends of the managers. It is not uncommon for an employee to work a lead or get results with a lead only to have that lead transferred to a manger's friend. Inbound hot leads are often assigned to friends of management as well.
