Pros
Good hardworking coworkers and in general the IT department. Due to lack of staff, allows for skill building by taking responsibilities that normally would be given to higher titles. There is constant work so you are never bored.
Cons
Stressful, the hardest workers are given the most work with unrealistic timelines, and when you meet those timelines, they don't use what you did for months. Added responsibilities does not mean increase in pay. Unclear management direction. Too many unproductive meetings that make it hard to finish actual work. Certain departments that generate money are treated with kid gloves and their employees are abusive to IT with no consequences.
