Pros

I enjoyed the work I did and my colleagues in my department and surrounding.

Cons

As other former/current employees will tell you, Mary & Eddie Shekari won’t recognize you as a person until you reach your one-year anniversary. They won’t talk to you, they will ignore you, but will micromanage through your department manager and via passive-aggressive group chats and company-wide emails. They play favoritism with (typically male) employees, usually within the Strategy, Account Management, and Business Development departments. If you’re in Web Development, SEO, Copy, etc, you’re screwed unless you’re a man. When things get tough budget-wise, they will fire you for performance issues and work off a skeleton crew. They will wait months past your anniversary to do your annual review and then give you a $2500 raise if you’re there for 2 years, but then give a $20000 raise to a man in another department who has the same level of experience. They only hire fresh grads or slightly experienced so they can lowball your salary (unless you’re a man, then you’ll be paid adequately!) God bless you if you work with Mary’s brother, because while he is a great asset and knows what he is doing, many female employees have felt uncomfortable around him and it is common knowledge among interns that if he makes a mistake, he will tell Mary it was the result of another employee and get them in trouble or fired. In my time at Versa, this happened to 3 different women. Oh also, they’ll occasionally throw pizza parties where you get to work an additional 2-3 hours for free in the spirit of getting ahead of your work as a company! And if you don’t, god help you.

Pros

The clients your given are generally large and well known corporations.

Cons

The clients needs are put before the staff, sometimes expected to work well after hours. Also, when you work on a project and the client likes your contribution, you typically are not given kudos - rather the manager or owner. There is also a lot of favoritism
