Pros

Looking here for experience? Work here for 6 months. You get to wear many hats. Get exposure to an emerging industry. Co-workers are usually cool.

Cons

You may on call 24/7 even if your salary is under 30k yearly. HR may not give good employees good references, especially if its to the competition. Business model is built around " smoke and mirrors" , Over promise and under deliver, purposely. I received absolutely no training upon ever. Everyone will be made a manager. Then one day they will realize that since everyone is a manager, there is no real management. Questionable business practices. Personal growth: Do not stay longer than 6 months. Its a waste. There is NO concept of project management. Appalling moral. CEO has daily meetings with every employee Project managers quit because the CEO micromanages them. Business model is built around " smoke and mirrors" , Over promise and under deliver, purposely. I received absolutely no training upon ever. The only reason this company is in existence is because the CEO has been funding it himself. I am pretty sure it hasnt been a profitable company for a number of years. Its less of a company more of a project.

Pros

Working at VersaSuite has been a great learning experience. It is one of the few companies that I have applied to that offers a great opportunity to new Junior Developers to get experience working on enterprise-level projects. I love it here. With that being said, because it is a small team compared to a big corporation, it's hard to hide from not being productive. You need to be self-directed and solution-driven. So if you are going to apply, set your expectations accordingly. I have learned more on the job in the first few months than I did anywhere else. Your teammates are great, very supportive and understanding. They will help you along to grow and learn. But it's on you to put in the work. So if you are self-driven, dedicated, hard-working with love for learning, you will love it here too. P.S. About management: Because this is a smaller company, we report directly to the CTO. There is no bureaucracy here. So when decisions are made, they are made with you in the room. The meetings tend to be direct and straight to the point. Because at the end of the day, the company has to generate revenue. This can be intimidating to some, because you are so close to the fire, and you feel that your decisions and work directly influence the company's goal to bring the best value and service to their clients as possible.

Cons

A Small company compared to a big organization so you have to have the ability to wear many hats. It can be a con if your expectations are not set correctly.

VersaSuite is a place where you can learn your craft. Often we are the first place for many coders to come to work. On the job training while intense does build skills quickly. The working environment is fast-paced and you are right you can spread your wings if willing faster at VersaSuite then you can at other similar companies.
