Pros

Contribute to a Lifesaving mission and help save lives.

Cons

So many!! Since Versiti acquired Indiana blood Center ( along with Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois blood centers), nothing has been the same. Versiti is only interested in becoming “corporate “blood center, they out to be the number 1 Blood Center in America. That is their only focus, no focus on the communities we serve in the community blood supply we are responsible for. They have completely gotten away from the mission of our job. Leadership has no experience in this industry and make decisions based on no experience. The blood services industry is unlike any other, when you’re unwilling to learn the in’s and outs of the ups and downs of the industry, please stop making decisions that greatly impact the lives of so many people that have spent so many years passionately working for Indiana blood Center. We used to have a voice and our leader ship used to listen to us, we no longer have any boys and I looked at as meer “pee ons” to leadership.

Pros

You literally are saving lives with blood donations.

Cons

The current leadership dictates how all the workflow is managed to a point of over-micromanagement and obsessive levels of narcissism from the leadership of the marketing department. Come prepared to have years of experience and be shifted under management who does not know how your role operates. Though Versiti serves five states, the focus will always be on Wisconsin, where the headquarters is, not on individual state needs. Leadership relies heavily on AI generated marketing materials and work products and goes against strategic marketing methods to support their home state, Wisconsin. While working here you can experience massive micro management as well as zero comprehension to your job role. If leadership does not like the way you are performing to their unrealistic challenges, they will eliminate your position and let you go, regardless of the time served and work produced at the company. If applying in an social media management role with this company, please be prepared to fill several roles in one. Content creation, yearly strategy, monthly reporting, community management for more than 30 active social media accounts, travel to WI and other states for content, video production, trend analysis, and anything they want to add to your plate. Diversity and inclusion has been all but eliminated by the company, which is made even more concerning because they deal with historically marginalized communities.
