Pros

Gain some experience in a laboratory setting.

Cons

Bait-and-switch with the ability to transfer when a position opens up . . . Not allowed to changed departments for six months AND are fully trained in current department (not mentioned in orientation) . . . You will never be fully trained in your department because turnover is so high (don't ask or you're "forcing trainers to train you" and will be written-up). Personnel file WILL be destroyed so you can't transfer anyway: HR and talent acquisition are not available due to Covid, so issues persist. Hostile work environment from coworkers (shift blaming) and management (open threats and intimidation). No work/life balance. Unrealistic expectations (ex. doubling donated units because of Covid AND employing HALF the minimum required workers for third-shift BUT expecting production goals to be completed). Poor leadership would be an understatement --- there is a Culture of unprofessional conduct from management with no accountability.

Pros

You literally are saving lives with blood donations.

Cons

The current leadership dictates how all the workflow is managed to a point of over-micromanagement and obsessive levels of narcissism from the leadership of the marketing department. Come prepared to have years of experience and be shifted under management who does not know how your role operates. Though Versiti serves five states, the focus will always be on Wisconsin, where the headquarters is, not on individual state needs. Leadership relies heavily on AI generated marketing materials and work products and goes against strategic marketing methods to support their home state, Wisconsin. While working here you can experience massive micro management as well as zero comprehension to your job role. If leadership does not like the way you are performing to their unrealistic challenges, they will eliminate your position and let you go, regardless of the time served and work produced at the company. If applying in an social media management role with this company, please be prepared to fill several roles in one. Content creation, yearly strategy, monthly reporting, community management for more than 30 active social media accounts, travel to WI and other states for content, video production, trend analysis, and anything they want to add to your plate. Diversity and inclusion has been all but eliminated by the company, which is made even more concerning because they deal with historically marginalized communities.
