Pros

-Interesting projects (intellectually stimulating) -Travel potential (conferences etc.) -Good working environment full of enthusiastic and intelligent people -Managers and team are approachable and friendly -Rarely need to work overtime -Acceptable benefits (Good dental, holiday carry-on/buy/sell/bank, company loans, pension goes to 10% contribution if you contribute 7%) -Overall, this is a good company to start at if you are a self-motivated

Cons

-Stratified and siloed company (lots of managers who do not have experience outside of CGG) -Lack of direction from managers (both commercially and technically- not necessarily a bad thing as you have some freedom to do things as you choose with colleagues at your level) -Lack of formal training -Lack of transparency on pay and career progression (the reason most people leave after two years) -Uninspiring offices and UK office locations (another reason people leave) -Lots of red tape surrounding travel to meet clients/attend conferences etc.

Pros

Viridien is a great company to work for, with a positive and professional working environment. The company has a strong international footprint, a diverse mix of nationalities and backgrounds, and a good balance of technical depth and business ambition. Colleagues are friendly, collaborative, and highly capable, and the leadership team is generally accessible and open to discussion. The work can be challenging and intellectually interesting, especially for people who enjoy technical, global, and client-facing environments.

Cons

Career progression could be much clearer and more structured. Promotion paths, development plans, and expectations for advancement are not always easy to understand, which creates uncertainty for employees who want to grow within the company. Salaries are also slightly below market average in some areas, and compensation should remain competitive to retain strong talent. Like many global technical companies, priorities can also shift quickly, so clearer communication and consistency would help.
