Pros

The regular employees were interesting to talk to and full of ideas. Working in the heart of the international district in Bangkok was quite an adventure for an expat. Human Resources did their best to try and keep an even keel for the company.

Cons

Any attempts at leadership from non-upper management were met with curiosity, then hostility. There was a very firm "Not Invented Here" vibe that got many attempts at wrangling a huge project into something manageable demolished. The turnover rate was incredibly high. Pay is okay for the area, but very poor for the industry, and they do not pay for relocation. Racism and sexism were a factor in hiring and firing decisions. Verbal and physical intimidation did happen to some of the Thai employees, and threats of retaliation were not rare. Marketing had fiat on game design and art features, despite a lack of experience in either realm. Attempts at communication with IP holders were stifled. Attempts at getting features signed off took far too long, as upper management was both inconsistent in attendance, refused to adhere to schedules and didn't trust leadership to get things done.

Pros

- (Non-management) Staff is friendly - Mostly decent work equipment - HR is trying hard, but has their hands tied by upper management.

Cons

- Management never listens to staff and is out of touch with the current project. - Creative ideas from staff is always shut down / Management is always right. - Management is either completely not there or is micromanaging. Gets angry easily when things aren't as expected but never really gives any creative direction outside of copying his 9 year old game. - Do not expect salary raises. Some people are still at the same salary since they were hired couple of years ago. - High employee turn-around. One day someone is there, and next week he is gone without any explanation from management as to what happened. - Promises to work on an exciting IP, but is drowned by limitation and always stop/prevent ideas to be pitched to license holder. - A very bad "holier than thou" attitude from upper management. - Management demonstrate favoritism toward certain employees.

Pros

- Central location in Bangkok - Well-known IP - Most of the Dev team is friendly

Cons

- Brutal management habits (undue pressure & warnings, unexpected layoffs) - Total lack of creative consistency from top management - Extremely hard to reach your objectives while under such tight scrutiny - Top management will not accept any idea different than their own - Lots of promises during recrutment, but reality is painfully different
