Pros

International environment: WIPO provides an opportunity to work in a multicultural and diverse environment with people from all over the world. Personal growth and skills improvement: the environment fosters continuous learning and professional development, allowing employees to expand their knowledge and skills. Good work-life balance: WIPO, like many international organizations, places a strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This approach ensures that employees can manage their professional responsibilities while having enough time for personal pursuits and family life, leading to overall job satisfaction and well-being. Positive manager-employee relations: A positive relationship is often reported between managers and their teams. Managers are typically approachable and receptive to ideas from their staff. This open communication culture encourages employees to share their thoughts and suggestions, leading to a more collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Cons

Cost of living in Geneva: While WIPO offers competitive salaries, Geneva is known for its high cost of living. This can be a significant factor to consider, as expenses related to housing, transportation, food, and other daily necessities might be substantially higher compared to other cities. High stress levels and demanding work expectations: Despite the approachable nature of managers at WIPO, the work environment can be quite demanding and stressful, especially in certain teams.

Pros

This position is flexible as it allows you to work on your own schedule at your own pace. You just need to return projects by the deadline; you are given ample time to do so. You receive exposure to a wide range of technical fields, develop your critical eye, learn how to quickly spot patterns, and refine your understanding of linguistic nuance. My colleagues are highly respectful and professional. It is a pleasure to work with them. You are paid by your volume output, not by your time, so it is motivating to work efficiently. You are given feedback on a monthly basis with a percentage of overall quality.

Cons

This position may be difficult for those who struggle with time management, but it is also a great opportunity to develop this skill. It is not clear how the feedback quality percentage is calculated.
