I worked for this company for 9 1/2 years. I felt valued and appreciated from [most] of my managers. When I started to feel bored, they would help me find a position that would challenge me and allow me to grow. I found a home in the finance department - I was very close with most of my coworkers. I was promoted to a Senior Finance Specialist and then to a team lead. From then, however, it started to go downhill. I was experiencing a very rough patch in my personal life and they told me not to let it effect my work and to "leave it at home". I made some mistakes and was put on probation. Probation was "not allowed to work at home", so I was the only one forced to go into the office which I spent most of my time alone. I asked to be demoted back to SFS which they allowed, and I began to thrive again. When annual reviews came around, I asked about a raise, to which they responded, "if you want to make more money, do more deals". My mouth DROPPED. I was one of the top producing finance specialists... needless to say, I found a job that paid more and left. A few months later, they gave a warning that they were shutting down the finance department. They just recently laid off the rest that still remained aside from 2.
