Pros
1. The events. Wanderlust events are magic, and the team that puts them on feels like family. 2. The work itself—if you're into yoga and mindfulness, you'll like the work. (Though there's a lot of #wellness, if you know what I mean.) 3. Your coworkers who aren't the executive team. A company like Wanderlust attracts interesting, whip-smart, thoughtful, and talented people.
Cons
1. Management. I don't doubt the exec team is well-intentioned, but they're not good managers, and they're not good at managing a company. 2. Job descriptions aren't real—you'll never really know what your role is. 3. If you think you know what your role is, you won't given the tools or the space to do it well. 4. If you do manage to do your job well, you won't be acknowledged for it—financially or otherwise. 5. It's easy to get so sucked into the mission that you don't realize you're being breadcrumbed and gaslit. 6. The mission, while strong at the events, isn't reflected in company culture. 7. Nepotism is strong.
