Pros

It's a small team and a start up, so everyone has a lot of freedom in what they're doing and how they do it without too much supervision. You're accountable to getting assignments done, but are part of the process of figuring out how to get it done. Compensation and benefits ranges from very poor to very good depending on the position, so it depends on what position you have. This is a pro for some positions, and a con for others.

Cons

The flip side of a lot of freedom is very little direction. Depending on who you are and what your work style is, little supervision can also be a con. Culture of stress/overwork. One of the major reasons I left was poor treatment by leadership on diversity and inclusion issues. The lack of sensitivity and care towards some facets of diversity/personal identity were comparable to those at conservative companies I've worked at, but impacted me for the worse because I took the organization's progressive values and what I was told in interviews at face value. I've heard from other former coworkers that it hurt them worse because of the feeling betrayed aspect than it would have on its own, so if you go in with lower expectations, it's probably easier to deal with? Compensation and benefits ranges from very poor to very good depending on the position, so it depends on what position you have. This is a pro for some positions, and a con for others.
