Pros
1. Free lunch, although it is not that good 2. Friendly colleagues
Cons
1. Frequent overtime. You have to be available 24x7, even at mid of a night. When the phone rings or wechat message comes, you must work. There is no comp time or any incentive whatsoever for the extra work. Management often uses the excuse that it is the way how a startup employee should expect, but they forgot to mention that there is no stock options for the employees. 2. Work during vacation. You are expected to work during your vacation. You have to monitor your wechat channel and work on their demand. 3. CEO has no vision. He always focus on making quick profit without focusing on the fundamentals. The operations of the company have been a big mess. His management only knows how to force people work harder and work for long hours rather than optimizing the operational process to make things run efficiently and better. These issues magnified during the COVID-19 period. Because of the poor management, the quality of services and customer experiences have been very bad; there have been so many customer complaints. I doubt the company can sustain this short term fortune after the pandemic is over. 4. No annual salary raise. There is no HR process to have annual focal review and salary raise. If you request a salary raise, the management will try to get rid of you by making your job difficult, making you to do low level jobs or find some excuse and fire you. 5. Fake glass door review. The very positive review you saw here was posted by an HR leadership; it should not be trusted. 6. No respect to employees. There is no respect to employees as basic human beings. Management often makes rude and intimating comments (if not insulting) about employees. When things go wrong, management always blames employees and never takes responsibilities.
