Pros

This was a good company to work for until Angela Braly became the CEO and only cared about share holders profits. At one time the benefits for the employees was great now, less and less is covered and a higher cost for employees.

Cons

Head for the hills before accepting a job with this company! 1. They make it impossible to meet their goals which change constantly 2. The more impossible goals they set (based off of numbers, never speaking to front line) and you meet the more they give you as a requirement 3. Don't believe them when they say the Healthcare Reform is the reason for layoffs and downsizing. The Healthcare Reform Act doesn't require jobs to be outsourced (India, Malaysia, South America). Way to really care about your customers and the quality of service they receive. 4. What happened to loyalty and those that helped to gain business and keep the existing accounts? 5.If this is a business that is geared toward helping people with their health why does the overall health of its employees not a concern? IE: I am speaking about the stress from the daily changes, layoffs, issues with disability,and fearing taking a legitimate sick day because of the workload

Pros

The company culture, people, and work environment are great. The pay and benefits are above average except they are skimpy with PTO.

Cons

The workload is insane. (I work in IT.) Projects are promised based on what will make the managers look good, not on what is realistic. We never have time to do anything right, so we frequently have to make time to do it over. And that time comes out of our personal lives, those of us who have managed to hang on to one at all. We knew going in it wasn't a 40 hour week, but it has gone from the occasional 45-50 hour week to 10 x 6 or 8 x 7 as the norm, and we are on salary. We get resources too late in the project to train them to be much good, and training them takes time away from the time we can spend doing everything because we have no time to train!
