Pros

NO PROS AT ALL other than free food and hotel stay.

Cons

they give up responsibility for their employees as soon as their staying in one of wessers homes. The contract states that if you go inside someone's house wesser at not responsible for what might happen to you. The commission is a load of lies. You would have to be knocking over 100 doors everyday to make any decent wage to live off. Your self employed so they can sack you whenever they feel like it and you will not get paid holiday or days off. You will not be told where your relocated until the day they send you off in cab. The campaign coaches are absolute morons and completely inappropriate. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY, you will also be expected to pay alot more money than they tell you - for uniform, petrol, bills for the house etc. I am an 18 year old taking year out before uni. I thought wesser would provide a excellent opportunity to work with a charity, however the reality is wesser are money grabbing filth. They exploit every and any kind of people from the disabled to the very elderly however the contract states otherwise to 'cover their backs' furthermore if wesser will ask you to leave your accommodation if your not earning enough on commission. Wesser offered a opportunity to work for them in Wales however I turned it down due to the unprofessional and disgusting attitude of the company and its employees.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have had a poor experience fundraising with us and would welcome the opportunity to discuss the issues covered in more detail. The campaign support team are available on: 01462 704 860. As you will be aware, we support an outbound fundraising team in excess of 600 personnel per year and have very few complaints. It is therefore of the utmost importance that we are able to speak with any individual that believes their experience was not up to the standard they expected. In regards to pay we provide an hourly rate of £7.30 per hour with a commission structure that rewards those who strive to work hard and generate an income for our charity partners. It is fairly common that individual fundraisers may knock on in excess of 100 doors per day although targets are typically achieved with a quality over quantity approach. As a result our newer fundraisers earn in the region of £1500 - £1600 per month. Our fundraising activities are regulated by the Fundraising Standards Board and our own codes of conduct. As part of this regulation we must ensure that donors have made a fully informed decision to support our charity partners. If this is not the case fundraisers will be asked to leave the organisation immediately. This is to protect both donors and charity partners. All individuals representing the recruitment team have either been previous fundraisers/team leaders or have taken part in a minimum level of direct fundraising while with the company. This is to ensure that the selection process provides an honest view of the fundraising role while selecting candidates that we believe will have the most positive impact for our charity partners. Should you have any further questions or would like to discuss any of the points made please do not hesitate to contact us on: 01462 704 860.

Pros

Nothing positive to say however this may change

Cons

I worked for the company as a student and was placed in company-arranged accommodation in Slough. The arrangement was described as free accommodation with earnings, but I experienced unexpected costs and a lack of clarity around pay. During my time there, I felt the working environment was highly stressful and unsupportive. After a short period without successful sign-ups, I was dismissed and asked to leave the accommodation with very short notice. Overall, my experience did not match what was initially communicated to me, and I would advise others to seek full clarity on terms before joining.
