Pros

Ball Arena tickets are nice if you can get them. Some of my peers have been wonderful.

Cons

1) I felt discriminated against for being a woman. I reported the hostile work environment multiple times and nothing was done. I even went to the senior director and he told me to not go to HR. 2) Get everything in writing always. HR promised me a bonus and merit increase and that never happened. That never happened despite being an above average performer and always having exceptional performance reviews. 3) Get everything in writing. The Sr. Director promised me a bonus and a promotion to make up for HR’s mistake. I tried to get it in writing then he said he never promised me anything. 4) I feel the pay is lousy. 5) I feel the benefits aren’t very good. 6) No room for advancement. 7) I feel the culture and values of the company were not lived.

Thank you for leaving a review and for your 6+ years of working with Western Union. It's disappointing to read about your negative experience as it does not align with the values and behaviors that we champion as a company. Western Union teams operate with integrity at the forefront of everything we do, and we take escalated concerns very seriously. We have a dedicated department called People Relations that is responsible for addressing employee concerns and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. They are equipped to investigate internal matters thoroughly and take any appropriate action if necessary. We highly encourage employees to help us maintain our positive work environment and report any concerns they encounter through the correct channels. We ensure that all employees have the resources and education needed to report through these channels. External concerns (such as those from former employees) can be reported through the Business Integrity Helpline (https://secure.ethicspoint.com/domain/media/en/gui/52271/index.html). - Shannon Armbrecht, Chief Diversity & Talent Officer

Pros

Exciting time at a company in growth mode where your contributions make a big impact. Clear strategy in the digital, consumer services, and retail space and great people, teams, and leaders bringing it to life in the last year. Meaningful work and actually puts good in the world. Everything we deliver helps people and communities that faced challenges and lack of access / opportunities for generations. Not only do you get to focus on new tech but also what you deliver truly makes a difference in people’s lives. You’re not just serving ads or making rich people richer, you’re helping folks support their families, empower growth in developing nations, create a more connected world where people care for one another. Great growth opportunities and recognition from senior leaders in global forums.

Cons

Small groups negative people that are not open to change, evolution, new ideas but you will find that at any company and not just Western Union. The vast majority of people here are excited for where we are and the direction we are going.
