Winter break paid leave, if you have a student going into college they will pay for 50% of their tuition at another institution or 100% at Whitman.
Cons
Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, non-ADA compliant. When an employee has any medical issue, they pretend to be supportive while they apply pressure to your medical timeline, they complain about your time gone for appointments for physical therapy, etc. They also tend to let people go if their recovery from medical procedures "take too long" to return to the office. I have spoken with four other people who have encountered this problem. There is an obvious inner circle, you will never be a part of unless you have a famliy member who is already a part of it. They will protect these people even if they are racist, homophobic, etc. They also under pay majority of their supporting staff. Especially those on the lower end of the scale. Many people who moved to Walla Walla due to a position they were hired for at Whitman, tend to leave after less than 18 months. They also just began building a 200 million dollar project, but they just released they are laying off staff members due to being over budget.
