Pros

The benefits were nice and pay was decent. Loved working remotely.

Cons

This was by far the worst company I have ever worked for. They prioritized process over outcomes to the detriment of customers. Departments actively worked against each other and didn’t act on the shared company vision, everyone was out for themselves to make their jobs easier while shifting the burden to other departments. There was no collaboration whatsoever, coworkers were rude and unhelpful (and at times it genuinely felt like bullying), and suggestions for improvement or change made by the employees to upper management were met with judgement and punishment by making your job harder if you dared to question the status quo. When complaints were made to HR they were blatantly dismissive and honestly, unprofessional. A direct quote I received when I asked for a meeting with an HR rep was “this is a waste of my time because I can’t help you.” Leadership was micro managy and creativity was repeatedly stifled. I didn’t even make it a year here before realizing this was an incredibly toxic work environment and that no job was worth my sanity or self respect.

Pros

Smart and Talented Team: Over the past two years, the company has brought in some incredibly smart folks who truly understand the challenges and dynamics of startup work life. This has significantly improved the quality of work, speed, and collaboration. Commitment to Improvement: Despite the tough decisions and layoffs that many companies (especially in HRTech) are experiencing right now, there is a clear focus on improvement, sustainabiity, and steering the company in the right direction. Flexibility and Innovation: The company encourages innovation and flexibility in work, which can be very rewarding for those who are creative and proactive.

Cons

Cultural Challenges: They are slowly figuring out the best ways to create a culture that is as transparent and warm as they aspire to. There's room for improvement in fostering a more open environment. Communication Gaps: Communication from leadership could be more transparent at times, especially during periods of strategic change. Past Layoffs: The layoffs over the past two years have been tough on everyone and created some uncertainty. But it seems as though the company is stabilizing and moving in a positive direction.
