Pros

Inspiring mission, modern tech stack, smart people who all really care about mental health. Some of the most interesting and awesome coworkers I've ever had. Everyone cares about mental health.

Cons

Management comes from academic background and critically, they don't listen to people who have a background in tech and have worked other tech companies before. I was lured in by the promise of an open culture but in practice, have found it one of the most restrictive places I've ever worked. What is disappointing is open talk by management of cutting costs by outsourcing jobs to Dublin in front of engineers, not giving off-site engineers equity and low salary for non-technical roles. People who left Woebot are openly disparaged and their names are mentioned only to blame their involvement in past projects. It's an AI company that doesn't prioritize AI or actually innovating, improving its product or helping people. I had such high hopes and was let down. If you look around Woebot, only one or two employees has hung out for longer than a year. There are reasons why.
