Pros

Not a lot - if anything at all.

Cons

One of the absolutely worst run companies I’ve ever heard of. They will set unrealistic budgets for themselves and when they don’t meet them, you bet there will be lay offs left right and centre. “Management” is a circle of people who have ties to board members, friends and family, yet don’t seem to get a lot done, unless you consider going out for lavish dinners and drinks (on the company’s credit cards, of course) They will promise you work life balance and flexibility, but good luck with that. Once you’re in the excuses flood in and working 8-5pm, mostly without a break, is considered the norm. Working from home is dangled in front of you just to be reminded that it can and will be removed at any second.

Pros

Systems used, really liked using Citrix. Some colleagues were genuinely great and have turned into family.

Cons

WorkPac was the worst company I’ve ever worked for. As an internal employee, the environment drained the life out of me. There were definitely cliques so if you just keep to yourself and do your job (even if you do it well that you work hours after the workday due to chronic understaffing), do not expect to be included in events and award nights (looking at you, Dudley Awards). And yes! 8am-5pm, it is expected that you work throughout your break too otherwise someone might say you’re “too relaxed” Understaffing was constant, not because they couldn’t hire, but because there was “no budget.” Meanwhile, the business expected its employees to hit unrealistically high budgets month after month, no matter what. So many great, hardworking, and longtime colleagues have been made redundant due to these so-called budget constraints. Management will turn a blind eye when their favourites do something dodgy like bully people or make inappropriate sexual remarks, but micromanage and push out those who just try to get on with the job. Gossiping about direct reports behind their backs was a VERY REGULAR occurrence, even between managers and their teams. There’s also no overtime pay, though this was stated in the employment agreement so sure. And while I get that “business comes first,” they’ll exploit any loophole they can to avoid paying contractors who get injured at work. They make it very difficult for injured workers to get what they’re owed. It’s a disgusting and disgraceful business that I felt like a bad person when I left cause everyone was just expected to be fine with that to protect the business. If you value fairness, transparency, and your mental health, then avoid at all costs. This company is reactive, not proactive.
