Endless internal procedures and office politics have killed all the fun of doing investments. - Investment Analyst World Bank Group Employee Review

Pros

No one will get laid off. Compensation is enough to keep you alive. Culture depends on the region but tends to be very political.

Cons

No incentive to perform well or consequence/responsibility if things go down. No bonus or carry at all. Promotion is very slow. It can take over seven to ten years to get promoted to the next level. Senior management can fly business class while junior to middle level staff can only do economy class even on a 14 hours flight.
