Terrible place with no career progression - Human Resources World Scientific Publishing Employee Review

This is a neat place to work for gaining exposure to the full spectrum of Scientific, technical and medical publishing. They cover a wide array of subjects, attend all the top conferences and have an interesting list of books published!

Professional growth was was difficult to come by. For a company with such international potential, the United States office and general stance did not seem to be a major priority. This is understandable being an Asian based publisher, however a lot of potential was left untapped.

Good benefits and vacation time, good 401k and health coverage

Management doesn't care about their employees. They will take advantage of you and ask you to partake in things that put you in extremely awkward and questionable situations. You can work there for years and never move up because instead of promoting dedicated employees they look for new hires. They ask you to perform job duties outside of your job for the same pay which could be acceptable if they provided a reason to do so but they don't build any kind of relationship that would be an incentive. There is no respect for current employees they are deemed irreplaceable.
