Hours and conditions are 100% dictated by what the company needs without regard to what an employee needs. They simply do not care.
Management does not follow or support onboarding training practices. Equipment maintenance has fallen off significantly. In addition, when ordering new equipment, they cheap out instead of thinking of the operators. This contributes to uncomfortable conditions. They do whatever they want just to cram more into trailers, and standard practices are merely suggestions that are in the way.
