Pros

If you live in the North East of England near Newcastle you can easily access the office via Bus or Metro and a short walk behind the train station. Work life balance is resanable. I worked in 2 departments and the teams and managers I had in both were kind and supportive. The people at Xplor Newcastle office are very nice and friendly, whenever I had any work struggles or personal dilemmas I could always reach out and speak my mind. The company was slowly growing whilst I was there and was always improving. The facilities are nice and modern with a hybrid work pattern. I started tat Xplor taking calls and was promoted to the billing department and thoroughly enjoyed both departments. I have since moved upwards and onwards in my career, but always look back and remember my time at Xplor. I miss the company and the people I worked closely with and hope the company continues to grow without changing its positive vibes and supportive atmosphere. The company also helps to provide cross training so you can learn new skills within your role or to work in other departments and develop your career. They certainly did in my case and am forever grateful to Xplor for giving me a sporting chance and help me develop my career. I worked 1 year taking calls which helped me learn about the business and improve my communication skills, admin skills and billing. Then I changed departments where I first started to learn about financial processes, use different finance systems to process payments and refunds and learn alot of Excel for current and future jobs. I learned alot from the role and company which helped me significantly with jobs afterwards.

Cons

Very few as I thoroughly enjoyed working there. The office in Newcastle is small as it's only 1 floor in a shared building, so its not possible for everyone to be in the office at the same time. However, this is more of a pro as the office is currently very flexible and allows people to work remotely from home more often. Some departments let you work remotely every day, others a minimum number of days. I wasn't fond of taking calls due to the nature of customer service, but thats not a con against Xplor. At the very least you have plenty of support and can boost your CV with communication skills and learn to use different systems. After changing departments I was then able to learn even more systems and develop a career in finance. If you live far away the building does have a car park if you drive, but then again the company might be ok with you working remotely. In my opinion there are more pros than cons. In the end I only left to develop my career with bigger companies and earn more money. At the moment Xplor is a small company but it's gradually getting bigger. Its still a great place to make a start. I felt very sad when I left and did not want to leave. But I'm happy for my experience at Xplor and have now move upwards and developed my career. I will always have happy memories of Xplor.

Pros

I still get to work with the team I was acquired with (those who weren't unceremoniously canned at least).

Cons

-Insists on a hyper rigid corporate model, and it shows everywhere. In product development, leadership, HR. There's so much bureaucracy and rigidity in getting an answer to anything and all it means at the end of the day is that everyone you go to for help or clarification will pass the buck to the next guy. -Zero regard for employees as people. These people are cheap cheap cheap. It shows in salaries and benefits (worst US medical premium coverage I've ever seen), but also in subjecting employees to using terrible outdated tools, and in laying people off at a moment's notice with no regard for them or the workloads of those left behind. HR/People team where it seems like nobody knows what to do or how to help; everything is someone else's job. -It is a mess internally. It's a company made up of 20+ other products/brands, and nobody's talking to each other because nobody even can talk to each other. Everyone's on different systems, different payroll, different Slack, different Teams, two different versions of every policy, it's a joke. -It's depressing as hell watching them buy up other companies, fire half of them, and suck the soul out of those left behind. -I had a job I loved before we merged with Xplor. It's been less than a year here now and I cannot get out of here fast enough.
