Cons
The Duty Manager's work was very stressful. There numerous issues during the whole day (e.g., violence, member flights, conflicts, injuries, theft, medical incidents, etc.). Hardly found a time to sit down anywhere. Lots of snitches at work, from your colleagues and supervisors. For example, if you show up 5 mins later, your colleagues would call and inform your supervisor. If you make an urgent family call, your colleague would inform your supervisor too. Very intense work, my legs could barely walk after one shift. The salary was very low under $20/hr for the tremendous issues you would have to deal with. Very high turn over rate for the whole teams, people hire and resign all the time. Very poor in-person training provided to the staff. The workplace had blame type of culture. Supervisors had private talk to staff often for tiny concerns all the time. Hard to take vacation because nobody would help to cover your shift. Large amount of documents and paperwork for any issues. Radio did not work well, make work very difficult. The facility had lots of maintenance issues.
