Pros

work-life balance, ample leave, nice office view

Cons

Don't bother joining YTL PowerSeraya and especially Seraya Energy. The culture within the company is unbearably toxic. There is a reason for the mass exodus of staffs recently to leave the company and new hires that join the company leaves within 3 -4 months, sometimes earlier. Management is a bunch of yes-men. Do not, I repeat, do not join the company. You have been forewarned.

Pros

Relatively decent competitive benefits. Individuals who are comfortable navigating this type of environment may still find opportunities within the company.

Cons

This review reflects conditions within a specific department and does not represent the organization as a whole. The department environment demonstrates characteristics often associated with less structured workplaces (e.g., SMEs), where instances of unprofessional conduct have occurred, including inappropriate sexual comments and humor that crossed professional boundaries, as well as a lack of respect for employees’ personal lives. Concerns raised through HR channels do not appear to have been addressed, with issues seemingly handled in ways that prioritize protecting the company’s reputation. There also appears to be a preference for a certain demographic profile, along with a somewhat insular, almost cult-like mentality within the team, with strong emphasis placed on showcasing and amplifying the team’s “achievements.” Bias and favoritism have been evident, alongside a culture that appears to reward pandering to leadership and encourages putting others down or stepping over colleagues to get ahead. It is unclear how these issues have been allowed to persist, as they are not new. For those considering joining the company, I would suggest conducting your own research, reviewing feedback across the company’s related entities on Glassdoor, and asking about turnover rates to form a more informed view.
