Pros

That it does not matter that this will be a negative review because the sweet galls in HR will get carpal tunnel syndrome from trying to type enough positive ones so the rating still remains high.

Cons

Everyone from the management is secretly Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. They promise this great workplace and all of these great benefits, they are lying snakes and everything they say is a farce. The performance reviews, the fact that you have to SCHEDULE to see your line manager (you can't just walk up to them), people absolutely getting demolished in meetings for suggesting something and white euro trash superiority when dealing with your employees. A ring of lame gossiping birds, high-school level alliances where they take photos of people on the floors and black list them while also creating conflicts out of thin air. Most of the people in the management are only there because they've been there for a LONG time. All of the meetings and one-to-ones are a bore. The meetings are so boring and a discourse from the team leads while none of the employees are allowed to chime in, if you try to suggest improvement; they'll tell you that they've thought really long and hard about the processes that are in place and that we shouldn't offend their "baby" by suggesting the beast needs a tweak here and there. Nothing you say in the meetings is confidential. NEVER show weakness in front of these people, they mock the employees that say that they have been neglected, you'll just end up being the subject of their trashy jokes for the week. People who are close to the management, don't worry about anything. You'll be protected even if people notice you stealing food from people's desks on the shift. These same people are always on their phones; to the point that the person who is speaking in a meeting will pull their phone out of their pocket, stop speaking and just reply to the text in front of all the team. Working as a student at Yardi, all I got was eye rolls when talking to my line manager about time that needs to be compensated because I had to go to school. And last but not least... Why are you even keeping the HR department? I haven't seen a more useless group of talentless chimps since NSYNC. I just don't understand how these things haven't changed since these problems existed for such a long time and I just don't get who is defending the office manager behind the scenes because she is the direct cause of almost all of the leaves at Yardi in the last year and a half.

Pros

If I were asked pros of this company in 2020 I would fill this entire space. Since COVID the company culture completely changed toward the negative. They have good affordable health and dental insurance. You get to leave 2 hours early on the day before a holiday. They will provide lunch in office once a week. You get to work a hybrid WFH schedule. They invest in your 401k whether you contribute or not.

Cons

Their pay is below market. I was a TAM and could have made $20k more per year with another company but wanted to stay with yardi because they weren’t publicly traded and were more stable. The culture became more stressful and toxic after covid. Yardi began a partnership with wework (see Hulu documentary) and then wework went belly up which yardi had to bail them out of. As a result yardi spent millions of dollars. To offset this terrible decision, Yardi started quietly firing people within the company. Basically, they were eliminating “overhead” without calling it layoffs because the word layoff scares clients and they’ll start looking for another software to use.

We truly care about your feedback and appreciate hearing from you though some of your experiences and observations are vastly different from what we hear from our talented Technical Account Managers worldwide. Regarding the 2022 WeWork partnership, Our CEO has a proven track record for making strong business decisions that result in continued growth and success for the company, and we were thrilled to debut a new space management solution through our ‘WeWork Workplace’ partnership which solves for a dynamic, constantly evolving future of work. We are proud to share that we have not participated in any company layoffs and have added serval thousand employees to the company in the past several years as we continue to grow. We take pride in our caring, respectful, and transparent culture and genuinely encourage anyone who feels negatively impacted by something to schedule time with the VP of Human Resources to further discuss. While we are sorry you weren’t a happier employee, we genuinely wish you all the best going forward.
