Quiet environment, but strict on schedule flexibility - Research Specialist Zoning-Info Employee Review

Pros

Quiet, hands off, not micromanaged or excessively reviewed or observed. If you're neurotypical and intelligent/driven, good with calls and having fifty eight unique and dynamic tasks just looking for a decent entry level job where you can be left alone, here it is. Not so much if you have mental health conditions and either fixate on tasks, or are more detail oriented than volume/speed.

Cons

No schedule flexibility unless its a circumstance they approve of (for kids, yes, mental health, no), very high volume work dependent on city municipalities so it can be cool or frustrating, company is focused on cheap, high volume, high accuracy zoning report orders so you'll constantly be hounded to be accurate and constantly checking up on a high volume of dynamic requests. Half the team is remote working from OKC but they refuse to allow anyone new to work remote or hybrid (despite it being totally doable or even more productive to do so). It's not a bad workplace or job- I just need more flexibility and accomodation than their outright "No, we want it to be this way" stance. You work for them, no working with you to support if you fall outside the neurotypical.

Pros

I can't think of any pros.

Cons

This place has incredibly poor management. There is a tight knit group that ban together to make your life here hell if you stand up for yourself or disagree with ANY of them. Their job training is total crap, their team leadership ideas are a complete joke, and they talk to you like you are a group of unruly 5 year olds that aren't listening to their mom. If you give any ideas on improving things to the owner, he claims you are disrespectful to him and his company. Leadership will flat out lie to you and smile in your face while doing it. Their turnover rates are extremely high. They overload you with the quantity of work to be done and then have angry meetings with the whole department about how you aren't doing things good enough or fast enough. They don't give 1 on 1 feedback when someone is doing something wrong, they send out a group message saying the entire group is doing something wrong. They have no problem berating an employee in a group email. If you address a rude co-worker, you get hit with the "that's just her personality" excuse, and in comes the squad to make you miserable for calling one of them out. They expect quality that cannot be obtained with the quantity of work expected. This place is so stressful, you aren't really allowed to talk to your co-workers but you are expected to work together and help each other. The few people that have been there longer than a year don't even bother to connect the new people's faces with the names coming across their email because they know you most likely won't be there more than a few months, which is sad because it's a small office and small company where everyone should know your name when they see your face.
