Pros

Where to begin: CEO is a truly caring and thoughtful person. He went out of his way to come by my cube just to see how I was doing and I thought that was awesome. He encourages anyone at anytime to reach out to him directly with ideas/thoughts to help Zoom become better so you don't get that "top down" structure - its very linear and all execs are accessible. Its from our CEO that the culture emanates from - "happiness". People here are really happy and you feel like its "your family" after the first few weeks. The product is second to none. Its shows well and is so superior to anything else in our space that you feel incredibly proud. The Zoom engineers never take their foot off the gas either and the innovations they are making to Zoom make selling it super-fun. Training I thought was executed flawlessly. I felt great coming out of it. The people around me have been so helpful and with such a collaborative product, getting a hold of anyone within the company for help is a click of the mouse.

Cons

Its hard to be critical of a company doing pretty much everything right. Obviously with such fast growth, there will be those growing pains but I'm not going to knock the company for that. We're growing because we're WINNING and people love our product. Can't find any fault in that.

Pros

Native C++ client Bar is low for being a domain expert - knowledge the average Silicon Valley engineer should have is somehow in short supply there, so it's easier to stand out Pay was OK, while it lasted

Cons

Repeated rounds of layoffs, with departed colleagues' work being heaped on those remaining, left everyone miserable and stressed and just waiting for when our turn is next. My boss actually announced development was shifting to "startup mode", and when I asked if that means more upside or flexibility or equity or any of the other reasons you may choose a startup over a large established company, the answer was, "no, just more work" (!?!) Serious culture and power divide between overseas and California based development teams. Zero career growth investment in employees; no training or conferences except those offered by Zoom. Fired entire DEI team CEO attended Melania's movie premier
