Pros

Where do I begin.. Zoom truly is an amazing company to work for. The culture here speaks for itself. I truly enjoy coming into work every single day, and getting to work with such an amazing team of individuals. Everyone is so helpful, intelligent, and always willing to help. The leadership and management is inspiring, and is always available, no matter their position. You can always reach out to management without permission, and they always respond with insightful, helpful, and great advice and help. The benefits are outstanding, and I truly feel like I am more than just an employee here, I have a sense of belonging and a "family" feel to Zoom. If given the opportunity, I would take it 10/10 times!!

Cons

I would not put this as a "con" in my outlook, but some others might consider it a "con" to work in such a fast growing, rapidly changing environment. I love every second of it, but if you are not ready for the "startup" environment, this might not be the place for you. But I truly do not have any "cons" for Zoom. I love it here.

Pros

Native C++ client Bar is low for being a domain expert - knowledge the average Silicon Valley engineer should have is somehow in short supply there, so it's easier to stand out Pay was OK, while it lasted

Cons

Repeated rounds of layoffs, with departed colleagues' work being heaped on those remaining, left everyone miserable and stressed and just waiting for when our turn is next. My boss actually announced development was shifting to "startup mode", and when I asked if that means more upside or flexibility or equity or any of the other reasons you may choose a startup over a large established company, the answer was, "no, just more work" (!?!) Serious culture and power divide between overseas and California based development teams. Zero career growth investment in employees; no training or conferences except those offered by Zoom. Fired entire DEI team CEO attended Melania's movie premier
