Pros

- Work from anywhere policy - Flexible working options - Modern, spacious office within walking distance to York city centre - Quarterly bonus based on company targets - Company share scheme - Enhanced maternity and paternity leave - Some of the nicest colleagues i’ve had - 5% pension - Benefits like Perk Box which offer retailer discounts and Vitality where you can get a GP appointment remotely (or in person if you’re based in London) - Salary sacrifice - 11 days allowance to spend volunteering with charities both in person or remotely - Working towards progressive initiatives like B-Corp certification and they’ve recently joined TC4RE

Cons

- Management training not consistent. This was raised a few months back on a company all hands and we were told there wasn’t any management training provided. Worrying given the sheer number of managers in the business - Top heavy structure - Communication from the senior leadership and exec team needs work. Need to be more open about upcoming changes that will impact a team - Still feels like a disconnect between senior leadership/execs and employees. Concerns were raised about the number of leavers and we were told there was no problem. Then a few weeks later we were told actually the attrition rate is high. Then blaming it on 2nd lockdown which was many months ago and how this changed people’s wants and needs in work? - Needed greater support in my role that boxxe did not have. There were no clear expectations or outcomes to achieve so very easy to feel overwhelmed and left on your own - Salary lower than others in the industry. I was offered 10-20k more elsewhere. New hires are being offered a lot more money with less experience. boxxe need to conduct proper salary reviews to retain employees and reflect current markets - Lack of diversity outside of gender - Not many women in senior leadership/exec positions - Progressive initiatives feel like a tick box exercise with no meaning other than to make boxxe seem more profitable. I.e boxxe spoke on the TC4RE podcast- what have boxxe done DE&I wise? They mentioned how remote work has meant they can employ people from more diverse backgrounds but if the actual hires are still majority white, how effective is it? - Lots of new hires and people without industry experience. Rounded up, around 40% of people have been with the company for a year or less. Not necessarily a con on its own but when you have this, lack of management training, lack of support and no clear goals, it feels like a free for all and everyone is just trying to keep their head above water - High attrition rate - Feels like for a while now there hasn’t been a focus on the people. It feels very money focused and people have noticed. Lots of teams suffering from low morale - Lack of recognition for the work you do if you’re not on the sales team - CEO can make a few tone deaf comments on company all hands. I don’t think he realises how it comes across and they are sometimes difficult questions. I.e. when people ask whether there will be salary uplifts to reflect soaring costs of living, mentioning perk box savings (which are minimal) and how we save money on travel by remote working can fall a bit flat. (Especially when that’s offset by gas and electric prices anyway)

Pros

Working flexibility, opportunities for growth, mainly friendly collaborative environment

Cons

Communication isn't the best, sales leadership (high level) is a bit wishy washy and vague.
