Pros

It's a marketing job to put on a resume

Cons

- In short, the company is chaotic, disorganized, and all over the place. - Not a digital marketing agency but a SAAS company that provides digital marketing services as an aside. - Have had two rounds of sudden, massive layoffs because they are backed by investors but aren't profitable. - Constantly changing job duties, deliverables, and expectations every week which makes it difficult to keep up with. - DIY SEO - Extremely limited processes in place, everything is manual with a million spreadsheets floating around. - Provide low-level, sub-par SEO services to unwitting clients. - Low pay in comparison to other SEO titles. - Expected to provide deliverables to 30-60 clients each month. - Made promises of quarterly reviews and raises that weren't delivered. - The "training" is someone stuttering for a few minutes and then you're left to try and figure things out on your own thereafter. - Very limited tools to do your job, I ended up purchasing tools out of pocket so I could better help clients. - Upper management doesn't communicate with lower management before they make major decisions. - No growth opportunities in education or position.

Pros

Flexible hours Great team Regular and supplemental training Build relationships with clients Weekly team updates on company growth and changes The company changes are in favor of the team Supportive team Great for night owls (just make it to your scheduled meetings, get an alarm) Positive and encouraging environment

Cons

Requires time management Timeline of emotional stages: (Starting Day 1) intimidating, rough learning curve, challenging when starting to transform concepts into actions, overwhelming once you have a full plate, tolerable after getting used to juggling, and finally capably manageable with sprinkles of exciting surprises (ending at a couple months in. Maybe 2/3?) Easy to lose track of time (pro & con) Training is ongoing (universal pro & con) Must be self sufficient Different time zones countries and continents (pro & con because of delays)
