Pros
eDreams is a confortable company to work for, it's a very human company. The team and people are nice, everybody is very friendly. You have good conditions for Barcelona, friday off, good salaries, the work environment is enjoyable. I think overall we can see that they are making a lot of efforts to make this company a better place. The union and the HR team are very active to try to offer you more and more learning opportunities, negociate better conditions for example a gym pass was added last year to the employee benefits. The top managers such as CEO, CMO, CPO are very approachable and if you will probably have a lot of contact with them in your daily job which is something I've never seen in the previous big international companies I was working for. This goes of course with its good side: you are able to share your opinions with persons able to influence the way the company works; but of course also with it's bad sides: see section below.
Cons
If you are used to work in big and advanced product companies you will see that the product and agile mindset is not yet very well implemented in eDreams. The theory is there, with agile coaches very involved in the teams and human ressources organizing a lot of very interesting workshops about design thinking, lean product management...But in practice eDreams is not there yet. Business and marketing departments are rulling it all which is a shame in a company who has for core business an IT product. Top level management can be too much involved in the daily work of the teams , it feels like they don't trust the product teams to make the right decisions. When top level management is too much involved there is no room for ideation, ownership and new initiatives. Sometimes it feels like the product team is more executing top management ideas and feature requests than building and driving a product roadmap in an agile way based on clear objectives and directions. Old habits are hard to change! But we can see that eDreams is making a lot of efforts to change and things are moving little by little in the right direction.
