Pros

Throughout my time, ever since the beginning I've been trusted to do the work in the way I thought it was most efficient, and being my first ever job, this has given me the confidence to try out new things and to not be afraid if it doesn't always work out. I have always had opportunities to grow, and have been encouraged to do so. Transparency is another important thing, and it has always been something that was taken into consideration. The situation is presented the way it is, maybe even more now than it was in the past. There are loads of benefits, and even though you may not use all, you never know when you need them as they've been well thought of and with this in mind it feels like the company cares about its employees, and this is just one of the things through which this is being shown. The teams are predominantely young and ambitious, and you could learn something from everyone. It's easy to communicate, everyone seems open and it's overall a very nice environment to be in. I've been here through all the changes, and I've always liked the idea the company was built on and due to this all the changes and the challenges were way easier to handle and to accept. The product is amazing, and it has gone through so many changes, each version better than the last, with everyone alligned to achieve the same goal. I'm honestly grateful for the opportunity I was given back in 2016 and the growth that I've achieved, for the people that I've gotten to know and have helped me and encouraged me to challenge myself to grow even further.

Cons

The redundancies haven't made it feel like the safest place to be, but there have been efforts to rebuild trust and to make the reasons behind this understood. However, due to this it has hindered some of the confidence, but due to the efforts of the senior management this is something that is being built back up.

Hi there I really appreciate you taking the time to write such a comprehensive and balanced review, thank you. While you recognise that changes and some of the harder elements that come with that, like redundancies, can be hard, you also recognise the consistent foundations that we've built to make hackajob a great place to work. Trusting our people and being open and transparent in how we communicate are core elements of our Operating Principles and create the culture within which we can all do the best work of our careers. It's also wonderful to read about the growth, learning and career development you've had over your long tenure. We have many stories of people enjoying promotions, evolved roles and developing new skillsets and career paths, perhaps ones that didn't exist when they joined! If you ever want to share more feedback, either positive or constructive, please reach out to me on Slack or book in a slot in our weekly People Office Hours. Thanks again, Amy, Director of People

Pros

The people are great, I get along with all my coworkers, and with a small team in the US, I feel that they have my back if i need support or help with anything. Training their employees to do a better job - investing in people. Great product, hackajob intelligence is amazing. Consistent and open communication with managers. They have invested into tools to help employees succeed. Expectations are clearly communicated.

Cons

Don't mind it personally, but for some people constant change can be a negative, and the company has startup energy. Wearing many hats and trying out new things all the time, less structure and more exploration, figure it out as we go.

Hi there I appreciate you taking the time to share this review. Your comments about the support within the US Team are awesome to read and we agree! I bet it was also great to be with the whole team at the recent RecFest (US) where hackajob intelligence was launched to the US market! Communication between managers/leaders and our people is something we've worked hard to improve so it's encouraging to hear that you feel it's open and expectations are clear. That, plus investing in learning and development for everyone really helps all of us deliver. We often hear feedback that ongoing change can create a working environment that's more challenging for some. This is an ongoing area of improvement for us, and we continue to try to find that balance between experimentation/newness and structure/consistency to find a better blend for everyone, but without losing the startup energy that has got us this far. If you have any suggestions on how we can continue to improve any aspect of working here, please reach out to me directly on Slack or via our People Office Hours. Thanks, Amy, VP People

Pros

I joined hackajob about 6 months ago as part of the growing US team. I felt very supported by my manager and the entire team throughout my onboarding. The US team is very collaborative and it's been a great experience to partner with and learn from everyone on the team. In the past 6 months, I have had many opportunities for growth and a clear career progression plan, which I appreciate. Wins are celebrated by the team and everyone truly works together to solve challenges that come up. I have had 3 sales roles prior to working at hackajob, and I have been nothing but happy with the support, opportunities for growth, and rewarding environment here.

Cons

As in any startup environment, things change quickly. Not necessarily a con, but it requires being open-minded and flexible.
