Thank you for your review. We very much regret that you were let go from our organization. Unfortunately, due to changes in U.S.-Cuba policy, moving office locations, recent hurricanes, and other factors, we made necessary staffing changes over time. InsightCuba has been a successful tour operator and business overall since the year 2000 and we are extremely proud of our reputation, our staff, and the contributions we all have made to the Cuba travel industry. Throughout an 18-year period, we have experienced challenges as most businesses do. However, we are dedicated and work hard to overcome any challenges we may face; we greatly appreciate the support that we receive from past and present employees. We currently have a dedicated upper management team of mostly women and one man and we all really appreciate and value our staff’s thoughts and opinions. I regret to know that you didn’t feel that your ideas were heard. At this point for sure, during all staff meetings as well as smaller team meetings, all staff are highly encouraged to contribute. Regarding your salary comment, no one on our team earns a minimum wage. Our sales team earns base salaries between $38-$44K and an additional 1-3% commission on the amount of revenue they sell. Regarding your comments about not receiving a birthday or holiday gift, we currently do recognize birthdays and work anniversaries. We have also hosted holiday parties, secret holiday gift exchanges, and baby showers in the past. Please note that we have had some employees who do not celebrate birthdays or holidays as well as some employees who have requested that their birthday information be kept private. Thus, we try to respect everyone’s requests and preferences. Also, now that we are a remote company, with staff who live all over the U.S. and in different countries, we would like to create new ways to celebrate special occasions as a team. We also strongly focus on providing other various benefits that staff appreciate such as a generous number of vacation and sick days, paid holidays, and the ability to work from home which has greatly improved our work/life balance.
