Pros
- Casual work environment - I was there for 2 years and during that period i learned what in other places developer learns in 10 (or never): coding, SQL, db management, business, maintaining large and complex source code base, etc. All thanks to demanding CEO. - Challenging environment with real deadlines and responsibilities - Small team. You have plenty of opportunities to shine and take on more responsibilities if you are capable. - All of the focus on delivering high quality product - No meetings that are going for hours - Real time interaction with CEO and peers. if i had a question, it is answered immediately by other developer or CEO. no RTFM answers. - Got my bonuses with no issues
Cons
- if you are looking for 9 to 5 job to relax - this company is not for you - One of the more complex solutions that i've seen in my experience. However, without complexity there will be no flexibility required for the problems it solves. As result, most of the time i thought there is a bug, i was missing some kind of configuration - Learning curve to understand all of the functionality system provides - CEO demands highly optimized code which is not easy
