Pros
This has been one of the best jobs I've had. Personally, I was surrounded with great management and a wonderful sales team. I could not speak higher of the employees at the store I was in. It really felt like a family environment within the store. Pleasant to go to work everyday, boosts and encouragement when you needed it, etc. Benefits were great and the company offers a good deal to buy current seasonal products. The discount is also very generous and almost unheard of within retail companies. Work life balance was a little tricky during holidays but overall, very understanding of personal life situations. Pay is very good for retail (we were paid once a week during my time here) and the bonus incentives are attainable and a great add on to your paycheck. Most everyone from corporate that I met was pleasant and knew your name.
Cons
No major problems during my time here other than typical retail woes. Sometimes it's slow and you can't make your personal goal for the day. It depends who your manager is but mine understood that we were all hard workers and tried our best everyday. I can see where the personal sales goals would become a problem for others with the wrong team and manager. Close to the time I left things started to change a little bit. Home office lost a bit of it's friendliness and started to become the "corporate" environment that I don't think it wanted to become. We had a visit from some people at home office and not one of them bothered to introduce themselves to me or the sales associate on duty. While the store manager was on a phone call in back, they sat in our comfy chairs and kept to themselves instead of interacting with us or even just shaking our hand. It was like we weren't good enough to talk to. In the past during these visits, everyone was warm and wanted to talk to you and get your opinion on the store, on foot traffic, on the product line. It was very off putting. This same scenario happened again before I left and it was just...well... it made me feel like I wasn't part of prAna.
