Pros

Salary. That's literally it. No other pros about this company. I wish I could add more to satisfy the 20 word minimum. Not.

Cons

Demeaning management on all levels, nationally and regionally. Mafia feel to the company. Some upper management are literally abusive to their staff. Job descriptions not fully disclosed. They will get you on board with salary and fake niceness, then you are working in the branch Saturdays all of a sudden. Threatening environment. Regional management team in Northern California puts all branch managers down. It was sad to watch. Everyone complained to each other and was scared of management. They act like they want to hear your opinion, but as soon as you share, you're seen as a complainer and you have a target on your back. Turn over is the worst I've ever seen in my 25 year career. There are entire teams that have left. Commercial and residential are like revolving doors. You will ruin your reputation by coming here. No one wants to give you business because they are used to so much turnover and want to see if you are still there in a year. WORST company I've ever been associated with.

Pros

Relationships Built. Not by Emser, no pros about this place.

Cons

Be prepared to be set up for failure. No training / support is given and when it is given it's usually followed by harsh and rude answers. Operation reviews (audits) are never consistent and followed up by a write up that is very poorly written and you can tell they're grasping at straws. Regional management will micromanage you to death with again, no support. This company thrives off of hiring good people, watching them fall and secretly hiring to replace them. So many false promises with this company. They will build you up while looking for your replacement. This was by far the worst company I have ever worked for. I wish I never would have invested so much time for nothing, literally nothing. Branch managers need to actually do what they are suppose to, not leaving early everyday and claiming to working a 12 hour day.

Pros

The pay for the positions is relatively fair. You do earn three weeks off a year after four years. You can learn the ropes of the tile and stone business by working for this company.

Cons

Emser does not provide enough staff to it's branches to even accomplish the daily work load. As a result the amount of hours an employee has to put in to the job is often times ridiculous. 55-60+ hours per week most of the time. Emser also does not always like to provide the proper tools for their employees to do the job they are being asked to do, and if they do decide to provide the process of getting those provisions is more often than not untimely. The company considers themselves to be a wholesale operation, yet they are more than happy to make the retail sale. This often times creates tension between the sales reps, and their clients. Expect high expectations with little reward for your efforts from this company.
